The composition will be centered on the following thesis statement from the Frankenstein novel. In Frankenstein, Mary Shelley holds that peer perceptions as the primary factor that shapes a personal development since it determines the character and behavior of an individual.Based on the Frankenstein novel by Mary Shelley the peer perceptions of the group of people of sam e age play a critical role in personal development. This assertion rests on the fact that peer group individuals have a strong influence towards a person character. Based on the novel Mary affirms that peer perception is highly influential among youth especial those who have been brought up together in a given geographical background. Schmidt et al. this aspect rests on the fact that teens brought up together from their childhood age tend to be united and have a common ideology (379). This attribute makes it impossible to neglect or desert the ideas and company of ones peer group. This assertion by Mary Shelley as conveyed in the Frankenstein novel is precise since it is evident in the contemporary society. For example, if a youth usually associates with a group of fellow teenagers who engage in malicious acts he or she will end up portraying exemplary personal development aspects as his or her peers. Thus, such a youth will end up engaging in such wicked acts as his or her peer.Add itionally, any abuse from other individuals also plays a significant role in the determination of peoples actions and personal development. According to Gifford, Robert, and Andreas, any abuse to an individual has an adverse implication to a person since it affects ones conscience and self-image (142). As a result, an individual who has been a subject of abuse by other people tend to act in an unethical manner due to the pain and distress attributed by other people. For example, when a junior student is bullied by senior students in a school he or she may engage in immoral acts. Such a junior student bullied by senior students may opt on avenging through organizing a surprise ambush to the superior students. Moreover, the bullied junior student may also choose on bullying other junior students as a means to overcome his or her distress. Additionally, parental abuse such as unreasonable caning and discrimination may influence the actions of a child. For instance, if a parent hates an d intentionally fails to offer his child basic needs such as food then the child is most likely to engage in malicious acts such as theft in an attempt to obtain the necessary needs which his or her parent does not provide.Based on these abuse situations in the contemporary world it can be asserted that those individuals who abuse others are accountable for the actions in which the subjected person engages into (Lall 235). This assertion rests on the fact that those individuals who abuse others are the blame for their acts are immoral and contribute towards distress.
